Life Story

Rowankit was born in a litter of 4 to two HighClan warriors named Tigerstride and Emberleap. His three litter-mates died before they were even named and Rowankit's parents mourned deeply for the loss of their kits. It however did not affect Rowankit, as he had never known what it felt like to have siblings anyway. He grew up happily with his parents and two moons before he was to become an apprentice his father brought back an abandoned kit that he found while on patrol. It was a small white kit that was covered with ginger and maple splotches. The kit was soon named Maplekit and he became Rowankit's new litter-mate and best friend.

Rowankit became Rowanpaw when he was exactly 6 moons old. He became the apprentice of a large tom-cat known as Thistlepool, who was also the clan's current deputy. Thistlepool was the perfect mentor for Rowanpaw, he was strict and hardworking and always had the young and impatient apprentice doing something rather than sitting around and changing bedding in the Medicine Den. It was thanking to Thistlepool's training that Rowanpaw quickly became a good fighter and hunter. Thistlepool taught Rowanpaw, not only how to control his body in battle but his mind as well, and between bouts of harsh training the two would often go and swim in the river.

Rowanpaw became Rowantuft at the age of 10 moons old. He excelled quickly as a warrior the same way he had as an apprentice and he was often volunteering to do extra work within the clan. He was almost always out of camp on patrol or on a hunting trip with Thistlepool as he didn't like sitting around and doing nothing. When he was back in camp he spent most of his time socializing with Thistlepool and his family, enjoying watching his clutz of a younger brother play fight with their father, a cat who was more than 2 times his size.

When Rowantuft was 20 moons old the previous leader of HighClan died making Thistlepool into Thistlestar. The tom-cat almost instantly chose Rowantuft as his deputy and Rowantuft dedicated himself to working hard for both his former and mentor and for the clan as it's deputy.

Time went by peacefully within HighClan while Rowantuft was deputy and it was full of warm dens and full stomachs. Rowantuft got to watch happily as Maplekit became Maplepaw then Maplefur. He watched as his mother retired to the elders den, and as his father (who was much younger than his mate) put everything into his job as a warrior.

After 12 moons passed Thistlestar died protecting the clan from a badger and Rowantuft soon found himself becoming Rowanstar. Thistlestar's death tore at his heart but in the end it only made him determined to work harder since he knew that was what the older cat would have wanted him to do.

Rowanstar was a good leader, hard-working and charismatic, making most of the cats within the clan follow his example and work harder. He dedicated himself to the betterment of the clan and was very crafty and resourceful, good at twisting things to make them benefit him and the rest of HighClan. In the end however he was a more than loved leader since he always put the good of the clan before himself and since he, like his mentor, was willing to give anything to protect his clan mates.
